Siesta Key is an 8 mile long barrier island with mature palm trees and tropical plants lining the winding roads that take you to one of the best beaches in the World. Siesta Key Beach boast a brilliant quartz powdery sand that is cool on your feet even on the hottest day of summer. Turtle Beach is on the South end of the Key and has been recently restored. It now includes a park for a secluded picnic. As for shopping and dining, Siesta Key Village has it all. There is the Island Drug Store, a local Post Office and many shops and restaurants. The Key has maintained an "old Florida" feel mostly free of manicured lawns and wealthy mansions. This would be the ideal spot for a family vacation.
